Hi,

Yet another problem with my Seicento. Tried to start it today to find it wouldn't turn over, the FPS on warning is coming up, and when I press the brakes it sometimes goes absolutely crazy (Fuel gauge goes haywire) display has loads of digital crap on it.

Tried to charge up the battery and jump start it as the battery had 10v in it and thought this could be the problem. The central locking started working while it was connecting.

Got the multimeter on it again and it read 13.5v. The central locking also stopped working.

Also overheating warning was coming on yesterday.

Any help!

Threw a new battery on (Mom had one which she bought in error from a fiat dealer and luckily is the same size!).

PERFECT, think my gf must have left the stereo on... lol.

I have had this once in the past. If the battery dies, or goes very low voltage, it won't crank and displays FPS.

Its a fuel cut out warning, but seems a flat battery triggers it.

I swapped mine out and it worked ok ever since :) No symptoms though, it just wouldn't start one day!

Cheers,

Kristian

Same thing happened here quite recently - I went for a new battery, squeezed a type 063 in & it works fine, dash cleared up.

Be careful - if you have the same sony headunit as me be careful to actually switch it off not just remove the face-off 'cos it stays switched on & my Sony sub stays on too.

Yeah my sony does that, on mine you have to hold the off button for a good 3-4 secs before it turns off! If you press it once it goes onto standby but does not turn off.
