Grrr @ network54. Seems like they have messed around with the footers on everybodys forums (which in our case has screwed up the full look of the forum).
I have posted on their admin boards and am awaiting an answer. Forum still OK to use in the meantime though.

Wimmy, I dont want to be a drag and get on your nerves, but is there any way it could be done, that the main navigation menue dosent strech when a big pic is posted ??

Shouldn't be hard Wim, unless there are some network54 restrictions on the template?

You could separate the top navigation etc from the posts by splitting it in to 2 tables. You could wrap them in another table to keep it all centre aligned. Or you could use div's for layout and alignment.

If you need any help in doing it im on msn danbrown2255(at)hotmail(dot)com

(Soon to be back on the members list! Should be collecting a shiny HGT 155 this weekend!)

Cheers,

Dan

Sorry to double post but another way of doing it (although people may not be too impressed by you resizing their images) would be to wrap the main post section of the page in a div with a name e.g...

Then you could use style sheets (css) to impose a max width on the images so if people post 1024px wide images, the image gets forced by the style sheet to a size that fits nicely inside the page layout, not stretching the header.

Not that easy Dan. However, any help is appreciated.
Have a ganders at how the forum layout is controlled by creating your own forum on network54. You will then see what I have control of (basically header, footer nd colours)

The easiest way would be to have the whole header as one image and then use an image map to create areas where the buttons are for the hyperlinks (which you can do easily using imageready that comes with photoshop).

Good answer! Imagemaps aren't great but they can server a purpose and this would be a great time to use one.

You should still be able to split the top menu etc in to a separate table from the forum posts though. Looks like you get full HTML support for the header, although I appreciate after having a look at it that the network54 forum setup isn't all that easy.
