Had a nightmare today, just thought i'd share.
A few weeks ago i snapped an ignition key doing somthing incredibly stupid in a scrapyard (minus 1 key)Been meaning to get a spare since, Then today my girlfriend snapped one in the bootlid while i was at the cashpoint at ikea in wednesbury (minus 2 keys), **** i say im screwed, ring the AA to get toed home, not so bad i think Timpsons 25 squid job done,( i have the red key). Only when i ring they say because mines a year 2000 they cannot do it.
So i go down to Telford fiat who want to charge £58 OUCH, but as i dont have another blue key and they have to be done in pairs (apparantly), its £116 OUCH TWICE, But because nothing is ever easy each of the new keys wont open both of the doors and the ignition independantly ive got to leave it with then tomorrow "to fiddle with"
On the upside i did find out some thing off the aa, if you still have the blue end of the fob you can apparantly just get a normal key cut and hold the fob close the key whilst turning???
(not sure how true this is)!!!
No real point to this but the morral is "dont put off tomorrow what you can do today"...or is it "dont dangle your love spuds in a hungry lions mouth and shout.. lunch"....I forget...

That is correct, as long as it can read the transponder in the key it will start.

Maybe a bit late now (and not actually sure this would work)...

But can you have a key cut, then either move the key or the immob curcuit from one key to another...?

And yes you can hold the fob bit of one key onto the ring around the ignition barrel to make the car start...(or tape it to the key as i have done it on the mother-in-laws daewoo ;))

Ahahh cheers daz i might just do that till after christmas (s'pose id better buy the misses a present first)...nice one
