General fog lights

hi, does anyone know if the front fog lights are the same on both sides, i need to replace n/s as it has smashed but can only see one part number on eper? how easy is access to change? any help would be appreciated, thanks..

As far as I know, same on both sides - and same as the Panda - check on ebay - £19.99 for a Panda fog lamp - as opposed to over £100 from Fiat............

Yes they are the same just the plastic carrier differs a bit on L and r side. New panda, also doblo from 2005 on and possibly AR 156 Restyling ( from 2003) all fit. Ebay is a good place to sometimes snag a bargain, also DEPO Taiwan makes cheap substitute parts. It's not the hardest job but it is a bit tricky, best done with a car raised on a lift, there is an access flap on the bottom of the bumper cover but it is still a tight fit especially for the last of the three screws holding the fog light.

i have just contacted fiat who wanted £108 !!! they told me they are the same on both sides, noted part number (51782979) and have just purchased of ebay for £23. have looked under car and can see access flap. thanks for you help.

One of mine's been cracked for ages. It still works though, and has passed its MOT with it cracked.

Does anyone know if fog lights are a requirement for the MOT? Given that they're not fitted to all cars I'd hope not, but you never know.

I'd be inclined to leave it if not required, as they're almost never used, and very vulnerable to breakage.

Not an MOT item so long as there are no sharp edges if broken.

do not need mot for 12 months but glass is smashed with bits falling out, looks like stone straight into centre. do not mind paying £23 but not £108.
