The area is not that bad as long as you know the scoundrels?
and avoid them,or tell them to get to F***
and besides that, there are a lot of nice genuine people that are on the go , its a rather small comunity compared with your neck of the woods, witch any case can work both ways?

besides that, and all the banter! i think we can agree we wont be kissing arses when we meet ?.I look farward to meeting you though, and as its such a small comunity were bount to bump into each other soon enough??? more so than later
Cheers Scotty

Only if you want to! haha.
Nah mate, i'm sure we'll get on just fine. Its not uncommon for folk to have these grand arguments online who haven't actually met face to face. Smee is a perfect example. He didn't get on well with a few folk when he first came here on this forum. But after his first meet, all was well.

Ye well i would like to think so Buzz, but to answer your qeustion as to why i dident put the details of the supplier i used on the forum..
It is because i had a few problems with them and i dont want to get into on here, and i would be in danger of flaling into another RANT!
Na serously i wouldent want people using them and comming accross the problems i did and mabey not getting it sorted out as i did,so would rather not put it on the forum.
I will tell Tommy about the probs i had,and he can then decide what supplier he wants to use.
Most of the info is in this thred anyway,i will say that Fiat could only supply reconditiond ones at £290+ vat and it would have to paid for first and it would take 3/4 days to arrive.
To witch i thought bugg*r that.
Cheers Scotty

Hate to be fussy but...

"PaulR for example(Of Powerfiat tuning and bodyshop) suggested that the bearings 'float' but your mechanic has said that it would be 'knocking its tits off' if there was any play at all."

I was refering to teh duel mass flywheel which is made up of two parts and one move and one doesnt, i believe ash was refering to the mains on the crank, which if that was moving the chances are it would be knocking (its unlikely that the mains would be worn and the shells fine)

...anyway you can go back to your rant :)

was talking to my old boss last night, he was saying that he has had THREE dualmass flywheels go on his mondaeo, all fixed under warranty, but ford still cant tell him why? so if a "old" (no offence scotty) fiat only has to have it replaced at 80-90k i dont think its doing to bad!

i hope this goes some way to make you feel better?

I'm not very keen on mud, unless there are two ladies wrestling in it.

Absalutly none taken Steph, ye the mechanic said they were a regular faliure in the new transits.

And that when they are ordering new clutches for fords they come with a new flyWheel,as they know if it isent knacked asweel, then it soon will be and have to opend up again so they just do both at the same time.

He said that Fiats for some reason last longer than fords,he done a doblo(TAXI) that had done
137000 before it went.

I think its not a comenly known fault amongst fiat owners, as most older fiats that come accross this problem are just scrapped, simply because of the cost involved in repairing it, and the market value of the car, just isent worth it to most people.

dmf = manufacturers' way of limiting power output of engines if it is only designed to withstand engine output plus abit more then fails or life greatly reduced if power increased.
