Technical Floor Pan

yeh very true, i viewed the car in the dark which wasnt really a good idea but travelled 300mile to view the car and didnt really wanna come home empty handed!! i paid £1000 for it was £1200 been well and truly ripped off! but hey my fault. i cant afford to buy another and cant afford to scrap it! im just thinking wether theres people out there which can custom make floor pans to fit? i know there are really clever people out there, somewhere.

Well sounds like someones been well and truely had.. Hopefully lesson learned and you won't go looking at cars in the dark again. You didn't meet said seller in a car park as well did you?? £1000 should have got you a completely mint mk1!!

If its as bad as you make it sound then your best bet is to sell it on or break it and buy another, preferably for a not so huge amount of money and during daylight.

The one I broke liked to rust as well have you got any photos of the rust if it's not too bad I may be able to sort something for you if you can get to Somerset. Best bet remove the seats etc and the remove the entire carpet and have a good look. Jacking points and rear inner arches go as well both of these being mot failures as within 30cm from seatbelts or suspension mounting has it recently had an mot, have you looked at the mot history online at all

Shocking!! No I went n viewed at there house! Will strip out interior on the weekend and take some photos. Ive had a quick look and already see daylight! Last mot only says os brushes I recon a dogdey mot.

You can check the mot history online. Befor touching much I would get in contact with vosa if it's a recent mot then they'll be very interested in checking the car over then you may be able to claim back from the seller although it'll be lots of hassle as you'll need to go throUgh the small claims court
