Flats in Dundee

We're considering buying a cheap flat in Dundee to tide us over for a while. Possibly somewhere like Dens road.
Is this a really bad area or are my hazy memories out of date?
We were up there last week for a brief drive and the top end certainly looked reasonably well kept.

I used to own a flat at tannadice court and it was a great flat, 2 bedroom....security entrance and private parking.... arklay st blows though, loads of junkies as is dundonald street, court street it fine though as is tannadice street/cleppington st in parts.

what about around perth road only road i know

once got lost in dundee but managed to walk from some random girls house to my mates. who knows how because i dont remember anything

perth road is very studenty and is quite expensive
