Hi everyone....My mum has a w reg seicento that cut out one her last night while she was driving. she tried to re-start but all its doing is cranking not firing.
The anber key code is flashing on the dash and she only has one key. i double checked all wiring, earth and relay which all seem fine. I checked for spark and there was none.........is it an immobiliser issue???? any help would be grateful as she does need it for work Thankyou:)

Hi again :p

Not sure if it's on your Mum's model but have a look (if there is one) at replacing the Crank Timing Sensor. Similar thing happened to my old Mk1 Punto, £50 spent down the line turned out to be just a £10 part that needed to be replaced, it started straight away every time thereafter. You could try a second hand one first from a scrappies and if it is that then buy a new one?
Also no disrespect but as we are all being choked as motorists by high Fuel prices is there any possiblity that the car has been run on the bare minimum of petrol? Sometimes this method can drag up sludge from the tank, blocking the petrol injectors? I know at some point we have all run our cars on the redline, myself included..:p albeit not very healthy for the car.
Hope that helps you a little (y)

My mum is a stickler for never letting her tank get under a quarter. I have thought about the crank sensor myself. Just had a chip put in the ECU today by gazzman to bypass the immobiliser which i will plug in tomz to see if it works, if not i will defiantly change the sensor......:)
