Panda (Classic) Fizzle :)

2013-09-08_10_02_34.jpg

As you can see I keep my workspace immaculate :D

The bumper came off - I managed to loose the side nut and bolt on the drive somewhere - any one got a metal detector I can borrow?

Put the 2 borrowed S&M tyres on and a matching size set that Fizzle had on when I bought him.

Still think I should have another bumper so I can easily swap the splitter one off and not look like I've had a prang.

Fizzle did amazingly well on the suprize extra bit today, I was amazed and only got stuck due to driver error (well it was stop or plough into a transit), don't know why I bothered washing him though!

Bit of a road trip today - sadly not for Fizzle due to extreme rain wind and bloody big hills to cross. :(

Basically I've been to pick up a set of velour/cord/leatherette Alfa seats (stored inside a lovely looking Alfasud) from sunny Preston, about 2hrs drive from me.
Then another hours drive to aquamarine's (liverpool) to pick up a bonnet and a front bumper.
Had a bit of fun trying to fit it all in Fizzle but with a bit of a compromise on driver comfort it all went.
Then another 2hrs home.
I'll take a photo tomorrow - it's still in poor Twizz

Good to see David and meet the rest of the family - could have talked Panda's all afternoon!

Question is do I buy a pair of VmanC's mounting frames or a pack of bolts from B&Q? :p

Please do not cut corners by using B&Q universal front panda seats fixing kit, thing a bit about your savety.
I'm sure VmacC can give some discount.

You have a point

Nah, just get dragonMan to pop round with a couple of tubes of Tigerseal

Tigerseal - why didn't I think of that :p

I'll check out the passenger side first - as I rarely have any - to suss the job out.

Is VmanC having a sale on Alfa seat mount kits? :D

there is a set of black alfa seats for sale in York for £50 at mo, could have saved yourself a trip there, hey ho - whats done is done...

Blacks no good wanted grey cord/velour/leatherette particularly!

Besides got other goodies whilst I was in the area!

Yep! £75 each or two for 150. :p

How generous!

Is that fitted then? ;)

B&Q int' mornin' then

Good to see you too John - glad you made it back OK (and with both knees still working!)

Best of luck with fitting the seats, and with the Y10!

David

Well my night shift got cancelled again so it's time for an update with pictures!

Those of a poor memory will have forgotten already that yesterday Twizzle (the mk3) trans-versed the Pennines to collect a few bits and pieces.

Here he is today chock full of Alfa/Panda chod - the bumpers out as it's been fitted - but more of that later.

Anyway lets put these away in the garage before it rains again...

Oh, it's full* is it?

I know I'll put them in the back of Fizzle...

Sorted (y)

*garage may require actual sort out later...

So just before Fizzle became a mobile Alfa seat repository it was time to get him ready for winter - ish*.

Here's how he looked last time we saw him.

No front bumper and Andy's S&M tyres - very grippy in the slippy but very slidey on the tarmac'a'dey

I was going to refit the seicento rims but the two of tyres were looking a bit #ahem # tired.

I rang the local part worn supplier and he said they had a pair of Pirelli's in the standard panda rim (155/65/13) size. I'm not too fond of the steelie style of them but will do over winter.

Fibbers! when I got there the Pirelli's were a different size so made the best of it by having some Polish Goodyears (?) fitted :( . Debica tyres - the sei rims had one or two of these on so not entirely awful and at £40 a pair fitted better to stay on the right side of plod.

Anyway I've missed a step. Whilst taking off the S&M tyres there was still a fair amount of Panday mud stuck under the arches so had the pressure washer on it again, which took off the mud and some underseal....

Then the tyres get changed, then I put the new bumper on, blasted vapour trap thing is a right pain, uses the same bolts as the bumper but can't see what you're doing with it in the way, I'm pretty sure it ended up with a kink in the tube, plus I dropped a nut and lost it so not to worry about that too much. :p
The plastic liners went back on too - I'm rushing at this point as I should be getting ready for work - didn't take the wheel off for refitting the LHS and managed with just a smattering of curse words.

Anyway - here is Fizzle with the new aftermarket bumper on- check out the groovy air vents!

and there you have it! After a liberal slopping about of underseal where it had been blasted/scraped off I dare say this will do for now though it looks so bare and stock without the splitter :(

Not to worry another mod is imminent
