Whats the best way to secure the rear wheel arches if the guard has been rolled and you cant use the factory screws etc.

bond them on with a good sealer, windscreen sealer being the strongest, but dont go crazy, you may want to remove it one day, just a few blobs in the right places, then hold it on with masking tape till it dries (over night) Ant!

I was hoping not to do it that way. That stuff is near on impossible to get off. Someone urethaned my skirts on, all the way along. They were a nightmere to get off.

The best stuff to use is called TIGER SEAL this is available from most motor factors and is the correct stuff for bonding body kits and trims on..(y)

Yeah, but that's the result you want, isn't it...

Obviously you did get the skirts off eventually... it can be done...

I suggest roofing polyurethane sealant from Bunnings Warehouse, white, about $10 (a third the price of 'automotive' polyurethane). I used it to stick my wing on. If you wanted something weaker, you could use Selleys Windscreen Sealant (neutral cure silicone which probably isn't what antsuno meant), which is about $20.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I decided to do it the FIAT way in the end. I stripped all the best clips off all the skirts I have and fitted them 2 my new (70SXi.e.) skirts. I just clipped it on. Wow, even without the screws, it fits really snug, I could not ask for better. The old bead of silicone gave a bit of preload on the clips, perfect!

Wheel arch trims also just fitted on with the front 3 factory push in clips. Its missing the top 2 but its not loose at all. The rear part securely clips into the bumper.

New "turbo i.e." decals finish it off nicely. It only took me 3 years to do that! bahahaha.

Hi steve is that your car, it looks sweet, good job!, them fiat wheel arch clips are usualy dissolved over here and think they cost over £1 each, and there not to clever, i drilled and riveted my trims , with a few blobs of PU sealer, last thing you want is it falling off and running over in it, ANT!

I wonder why you host your pictures at turbo124.com when it's not a 124... it's an Uno... and that's what THIS forum is about :)

I could do with some more wheelarch trim clips myself.

Seeing an Uno as nice as yours that's obviously wet inside the wheelarches always makes me wince. If you went out to it and got down low close nearby, you'd be able to hear the fizzing sound. Hope that's not dirt and mud buildup inside

You're really going to have to start driving it on dry days only... ;)

I only ever use to drive it on fine days. But I want to drive it while I have it and not let it sit in the garage unused anymore. At least it has a garage to park in, work and home.

Turbo124 is just the name of Dave's old website. Its not well suited to the forum anymore. He was talking about changing it.

all its missing is a nice tailgate spoiler, and a tasty stainless pipe to peak out from the bumper, maybe colour code the rear plinth and front scuttle panel, and remove those orange wing indicators (sponge knockers) very nice does it rain alot in NZ, the nice weather has gone back in to hibernation in madchester now, but what a summer that was, good job i had 4 months off, Ant!

I prefer an original look.

Wing? im too old for that
Stainless pipe just for the look? No thanks.
Whats a plinth?
Scuttle pannel? black is fine.
Orange indicators, do you mean remove them altogether? Cant do that. Clear may look better but wont be avaiable. Sponge knockers?

btw we call spoilers "wings" and wings "guards" haha
