I posted earlier about a misdiagnosed oil leak from Bell housing.
It as actually from the right inner CV boot. The boot is in good condition so I think that the boot didn’t seat properly on the machined face. I have spent all day trying to get the metal ring and boot to go together properly. The boot just wants to pop out of some part of the retaining ring circumference. I have had the thing apart many times in the past and don’t remember this agro before. I still have the old boot and it looks identical. The boot seems too small to slide over the machined gearbox ring. Any ideas? Anybody else spent a day covered in oil wrestling with this? (yes I did drain it)
There is also a minor leak from the left side, from behind the ali plate. I guess that might be the o ring. Its not the boot itself in either case.
