Fitting Earth Cable Problem.

I've just bought myself a Fiat Punto MK2 and i'd like to install my JVC KD-G402/KD-G401 CD player, so I realised that I didn't need an audio connector which was good so them 2 cables fitted fine but the single earth cable or arial cable or whatever its called that comes from the car doesn't fit anywhere in the back of my CD player, there is a hole for an earth cable to my cd player but not for this particular connection and was connected to the default cassette player perfectly and now its just not connected to nothing although my cd player is working fine but with no radio which is ok but is it doing damage and does that cable really need to be fitted to something somehow? Please help me someone with this problem. Thank you

its either a pointed end or a flat type end.
one needs an adapter and one needs the adapter removed.
