Thanks for the pictures, but I got to that step, but you still cant get the switches out, even if you remove the two screws like in the first picture you added. Are there any further steps described?

maybe i have given you instructions only to remove the centre switch panel which leaves the heat and air conditioning switches in place..........

Did you ever get an answer, I have same issue, cant get unit out, have disconnected everything including the mechanical heater control cables still won't come out, looks like only option is to take whole dash out
