My car has a hydraulic clutch. So I guess that fine. The engine mouths for the 999cc fire will fit directly onto the 1.3mjd without any mods?
Will go straight on without mods.
Why do I need to subscribe to the keylearn program.I'll be getting the entire ecu + wiring from a scrap car though I'll be buying a brand new engine.Engine swaps are illegal here unless the replacement is brand new, from the same manufacturer and the old one isn't available.
I suppose you are right that if you transfer
everything that provides an input to the engine that it will work. I think you may underestimate how much stuff this is. How will you know without wiring diagrams? I gave you some tips, not an exhaustive list of things you will need. Even not having switches on your brake and clutch peddle will make the car unpredictably un-drivable. The engine may refuse to start for any number of reasons. You may need to find out why, which can be more difficult than you think too. I would want a way of interrogating the ECUs like "
MultiECUScan".
What if I use the punto shafts on the punto gearbox?
If that won't work then would my current gear ratios be fine.
You will have to customize the drive shafts to be short enough and to use CV joints that can fit your car. Quite a lot of work, even for an expert.
Your current ratios won't be shorter than the Punto Evo gearbox because the Punto has such larger wheels that contribute to it's longer gearing.
I'll be adding a few extra gauges(tachometer, boost gauge etc)
Boost gauge is easy enough as presumably you are aware. You may find the tachometer harder than you think as this information is only available on the cars network between the ECUs.
Your questions are hard to answer as I don't know how good you are at mechanics or auto-electrical things. You have concentrated on the mechanical things, so perhaps that is your thing, but you don't know the complexity of modern electronics? To progress in this exchange you will need to tell me you do understand all this and you just wanted to know whether engines would fit in. Otherwise this is just a waste of time.
In terms of how the car would drive with one of these engines; it would be lighter than your current car with this engine set up, so would handle better and it would be faster than any Uno ever made, including the Uno Turbo. You will have terrible torque-steer because the drive shafts are unequal length unless you are able to customize the Punto Evo setup.
