Well, I was having a fiddle and measuring up and one thing led to another......

Here we go, one stealth permanently live Auxiliary socket, mounted in the lower glovebox. 17 amp cable, 25 amp connectors and fused at 7.5amp.

Wired live side straight to the battery and earthed to a handy mounting bolt nearby. Tested at 180 watt, 15amp using a 12v car kettle, obviously initially with a 15 amp fuse. If anything was going to melt or fuse, it would have done so then!

Neat job - the only thing I would have added was a switch to isolate it completely if leaving the car for any length of time but you seem to have covered all bases.....
