Fire Extinguisher Any1??

Went to wolverhampton to collect some friends in the almera yesterday, Coming back along M6 nicely doing 100, radio up windows down, noticed a Hot plastic smell, all sniffed about, thought nothing of it carried on, 5 mins later smell reappears, Casualy look at my feet see smoke, look at mate in passenger seat, ****! shot across all lanes into hard shoulder bailed out and within 2 mins the inside of my babe #3 is well ablaze, Took fire engines 10 mins to get there as well as police so by time blaze was out, cars marshmellowed
How pissed off am i!

I ALWAYS carry a fire extinguisher and medical kit in the the HGT - you just never know, not only could it save me, if I was driving past - I could have saved you.

However, being an Almera, I would maybe have thrown my petrol can at you instead lol

After seeing a tipo burst in flames from electrical short-circuit, I always cary a fire extinguiisher in my car!!!!!!!btw, it was stationary. lol

i set fire to the inside of my car, when trying to fit a sub and amp. i now alway keep one in the car as it put the **** up at the time. best saft than sorry

Cheers fella's, on the look out for a silver one to match the boot floor, Feet are fine just a little sweety at the time lol, I can see my insurance being a bitch about this, lookily i have all the reciepts for anything done electrical on the car to cover my back. At least after xmas the extra money and ins. comp can pay off my debt and put my modding fingers to the Bravo!

Stupid question but if you didn't manage to get any of your stuff out of the boot of your car how will you get the extinguiser out of the boot?

There is no point in having one unless you can grab it on the way out of the drivers seat.

Also, don't get a powder one, they are no good. With the thermal changes in a car the powder goes solid so when you need it, it won't function.

If you are serious get a *PROPER*, decent sized AFFF (Aqueous film forming foam) extinguisher intended for use in race/rally cars. The pissy little hellfords/lax power/etc.. ones are simply no good. Even with one of those little powder ones your car will still have burnt.

Trust me, I've done fire fighting training and putting out a fire is a lot more difficult than it looks.

If i was in the bravo i could of got it out the boot, but as the locks had been removed on the almera i couldn't get inside to pull the solenoid, Was thinking of putting one in the passenger footwell, look outta place anywhere else

You can pick up a basic race extinguisher from about £40 - well worth it, quite small and it can go in the boot or under the front of the passenger seat.
