fingers crossed - red key returns home!

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if there is a unique identifier on the 3 key sets as supplied by fiat? I mean something that easily shows that the three keys belong together.

I ask because my car did not come with the red key. I contacted DVLA and paid them a fiver to send me the details of the original owner and the garage where it was first registered. The info arrived today so i called the Garage (original owner sounds elderly and is registered disabled so i thought to try the garage first). The guy told me they had not been a FIAT dealer for about 12 months, but went to have a look anyway...

He found one, and is sending it to me, but I only quoted the code from the shaft of the blue key which is the same as my spare FIAT blue key (B365).

Now i'm hoping that no one else will say "mine says that too!" If anybody has a blue remote control key and a red one to hand (or in a nearby safe), could you check what codes they show and let me know if it's just the FIAT RC KEY product code please.

The only other info i can see is in very faded small letters right next to where you would prise the case of the key open:
TRW 207479-CEPT LPD D-ETS 300 220

I'll compare the shape of the key when it arrives by taking it to a cutter anyway.

Could i really be this lucky?
If i'm not there may be another FIAT driver searching...it could be fate...a chance meeting...or their car could be on bricks in the Southport area.

Any help much appreciated.
Marko

Sorry :(

Mine says B365 on it, and it isn't even a remote one...

You may be very lucky..

but my red key and remote key both have B365 on them.

My missus has the non-remote key so i cant check that for you.

You also mentioned the faded letters/numbers on the blue key, and they exactly match the letters/numbers on my remote key, so that wont help you.

If it hadnt have been a fiat deal, just a normal garage, i'd say you had a good chance, but with it being a fiat dealership i fear you may be out of luck.

Happy hunting..

If the red key opens your door and fits the ignition, then I would think it's yours!
