You may or may not know the ongoing saga ive had trying to get some dents pulled out of my car...........begining of the week and got totally fed up and phoned the body shop that quoted me £1300 to fix it to book it in. By a stroke of luck they couldnt fit it in till the 22nd of Nov so i decided to look else where...........found another bodyshop and took the car to them, got the quote back today and for the same work they've quoted £760 something, plus theres no chance they'll replace the pannel! Will be booking it in tomorrow to hopefully be done next week, so at last i shall have my car back to mint condition..............plus the money ive saved may be going to a nice new exhaust!

hope it all goes ok
I've been down the bodyshop road myself recently so i can sympathize with you

the thing that winds me up is that you're obviously pi**ed off and depresed that you've damaged your pride and joy and you are going to loose it for a week while they repair it and what do they give you as a replacement- a Ford Ka-I mean a bl**dy Ford Ka. It just adds insult to injury :yuck:

Well got my car back yesterday, and after a damn good 5 hour clean here she is all dent free and shiney

There's a place down here called Dawsons bodyworks and apparently they are very good if you want the best quality job done, so in a couple of years when the car has picked up the inevitable wear and tear that everyday driving brings, I'll take it there and get a full custom paint job (y)
I have 2 years to decide on the colour :chin:

What was the general condition of the car like when you got it back Matt, was it all dusty inside with foot marks on the door cards and finger prints all over the place ?

Ive delt with dawsons before, had two different bodykits off them for my previous punto and they were very good! Not the cheapest but you pay for what you get :)
Do you live near to here then mate ? Or are there more dawsons in the surrounding area ?

Like you say, not cheap at all, far from it but worth the extra if they are as good as I hear.

I'd like to get extra layers of paint and laquer on the car to give it more protection too.

Matt, how did they do the repair in the end, did they suck out the dent and fill it cuz it does look very good as far as I can see on the photo's ?

Wasnt too bad actually, was a bit of dust inside, and a few stick marks where they'd masked different parts of the car up, but overall came back very clean like the way it went in.

All im trying to do now is get rid of the smell of paint!

Hey Matt, Glad to hear your baby is in top notch condition again (y)
 Whenever you feel like you want to get rid of it... just think back to your lovely driving experience in the Matiz :D That should make you greatful that you are driving a real car :p
