My Brava has always had a problem in light rain/drizzle. The screen always smears, making it difficult to see.
After trying Bosch and other wiper blades (plus all sorts of "remedies") I decided I'd try the new flat type wipers seen on new Fords etc.
I got some Retro fit Classic blades. They fit straight onto normal wiper arms (unlike other types) and they are real good. Drizzle no problem, they're also quieter and don't lift off at speed despite not having a spoiler.

They're not cheap at £19.99 post free for a 23/19 pair. But the Bosch spoiler type ones were £13.99 a pair and they were rubbish in comparison.

Maybe some of you have the same problem as I did, or maybe it's just my car. Whatever, the new blades look good too. The Seller on eBay is prestigeaccessories111.

The only downside is I fully expect some swine to thieve them.

look good!!

Might invest in a set... cheers :)

Yeah i've got the flat Valeo Silencio X-TRM wipers fitted on my Bravo, wouldn't buy the cheaper versions as they never last very long.

Ozric-Al,

sorry to hear you're having problems with them.
I'm having similar problems with a supplier of LED type bulbs so I know how frustrating things can be.

My main point was recommending the actual wiper blades (made by Classic). No doubt they can be bought from other suppliers, although can't say I've seen any, having said that I haven't looked.

I hope you get a full refund from them, but not many firms will refund the P&P charges as well.
Whilst I sympathise with your plight I take people as I find them, and they were as good as their word. Everything I asked them was answered truthfully, and they said I'd have the wipers in 48 hours and it took just less.

However, if I'd have known of your hassles with them beforehand I'd have looked elsewhere out of general principle.

Good luck with the refund.

Stuart.

Don't worry about it Stuart. It was an advisory for others really. They are still advertising the wrong fascia despite being told and that's what's p'ing me off more than anything.

Ive just ordered some Eurowipers (the ones that go floppy when you pick them up.)

They are meant to be better than the metal framed ones, as they have over 1000 contact points, so wipe the screen much better.

what size did you get, wouldn`t mind a set myself,

BRAVO, why settle for anything less.

You need sizes 23" and 19".

re

every time i've had problems with the wipes normally cleaning the actual wiper solves it as long as the rubber isnt split etc!

Allan

I bought 22" and 19", they work fantastically, however, they don't look right, as the way the bracket fits onto the wiper itself, the only way it fits it with the spoiler bit facing backwards.

Ill take some pics later to explain what I mean.

So as to allow you all to get great wipers without buying them from the people that Ozric-Al is in dispute with I see you can buy them on eBay from;
quality.car.parts

The ones you want are made by Classic. Called the Classic Fusion Retro-fit blades. The size you need is 23"/19". They fit straight onto the standard wiper arm, no messing with adaptors or suchlike.
The above firm are actually a bit cheaper to buy from too, so that's a bonus.

I hope no BOO member is in dispute with these people. I don't know if they're reliable, but they've decent feedback so should be.

Anyway, whoever you buy from the Classic Fusion blades are a real find. Time will tell as to their durability but I've never had better wipers in thirty odd years of driving.

Cheers,
Stuart.

I'd recommend Valeo Silencio X-TRM Wipers they are the flat new design wipers as the ones mentioned above, they have wear indicators aswell as being a reputable company they should outlast any of there counterparts.

Downside is they are £29 a set delivered.

After toying with the idea for a while, I finaly tried to buy some of these new flat-style wipers online, as my current Champion ones were coming to the end.

Tried using the links mentioned earlier, but soon found it was a bit of a minefield - I did'nt want the standard Fiat 'recommended' combination of 23"/19", as I've found that a combo. of 21"/20" gives a preferable sweep pattern, at least on my Marea.

It seems you have to be carefull to choose a 'non-original equipment' type, or the adaptors won't be included.
Yesterday I looked-in at Hellfrauds to see what they had and in their typical idiot-proof style, they had their new own-brand flat wipers available only in paired kits for particular cars - (and their recommended kit for Brava/o Marea was a 23"/18" combo!)

I'd almost given-up, but was draggged to Tesco's today by the missus and they had their own-brand flat wipers in individual lengths for about £8 each. Their choice was of 16,18,20,22 and 24" lengths, so I bought one 22" and one 20" to try.
I've no idea how good the quality of these blades will be, but they seem well made, apart from one glitch - the 21" was fine, but the 20" one was made 'upside down' for a RHD car, (the wiper's spoiler was the wrong way up.)

Of course I tried reversing the wiper's mounting block, but it will only 'lock' firmly one way only, so that was no good.
The other obvious thing of turning the pivot clip around worked, but meant having to remove the covering end cap and there was no provision for mounting it on the other end of the block.

In the end I had to drill two tiny 2mm holes in the other end of the mounting block to enable the cap to fit - but it was a lot of phaffing about for a bl**dy windscreen wiper!

- You think it's hard work reading all this, try actualy doing it all for nearly a hour, lol

Just an update on my previous post to link-in with the possible 'Group Buy' flat wiper thread started yesterday..

Those Tesco ones I fitted a few months back hav'nt really impressed me so much, (worn already) and I'm tempted to go back to some quality, less baulky-looking conventional type.

Other flat wipers may well be better, but you don't know until you try.
