Well I picked up my HGT on saturday. The mechanics bill was £1297 (of that £700 was labour), and I bought parts that cost £570. OUCH.
Basically that was for the head being taken off, replaced with a head from a broken HGT (skimmed and pressure tested). All auxilliary pulleys and tensioners replaced, new water pump, cambelt, tensioner and idler.
New discs and pads all round. New radiator. MOT. Various other odds and sods (gaskets seals etc).

Moral of the story, it's not just cambelts that can cause head damage, get thouse auxialliary belts checked and replaced at the same time too.

It's so nice to have her back :)
