Thought I'd put her to bed once and for all :)

First 3 pics were her in all her glory :)

She took the impact on the pas side wheel and A frame, spun and went backwards into the hedge, then cartwheeled and landed drivers side down in the ditch. You can see the damage on the drivers side A frame and the boot lid. Funny thing is the pas side mirror ended up in the hedge as well.

She served me well and I will miss her.

My lasting memory of this will be turning to Jack to see if he was all right and seeing a big grin spread across his face. All he said was "CooooooL"

We all got out without a scratch with the exception of a nettle sting for me and a bruise on Jack's ear.

The Beast said:
Is it just me or has the forum lost alot of cars recently? Think mine may be going into a garage until it all calms down.

yeah even now a land rover flew out of a roundabout and only stopped a foot from my passenger door (keep in mind i swerved over aswell!)

well while everyones saying good bye to their ex Mareas lets all have a final fairwell to my old Marea

i put so much time, effort and money into her and she was gone in an instant :( RIP Marea:(

So, as they say "a good car to have a crash in!". So it's starting to get lonley in here for our weekend.
Realy sorry to see such excellent and well loved cars destroyed like this, I would be really p*ssed if someone wrote my car off, it's such a useful piece of kit and in such good shape that the write off value would not start to cover replacing it.

This time of year, the sun is low and visability is poor due to dazzle or the light is poor, so i tend to drive with my lights on mostly as a deterrant. Went to London and back at weekend, and the quality of driving by many motorists verged on idiotic.

Andy.

Jesus, this thread is depressing.
I wouldn't mind if they were all fugly, but they *were* all beautiful:mad:

I think sumplugs got it, driving at this time of year is bad down to the rapidly changing conditions, heres my 2cents:-

-Roads are greasy, as there has been a little rain, but not enough to wash the grime off, so some roads are terrible, others are great.

-The sun is always in your face, or on the side or in your mirrors, this in itself isn't so bad but....

-WHY CAN'T PEOPLE CLEAN THEIR WINDSCREENS!!!! I've been in SO many near miss's the last week, esp on roundabouts where people *just* don't see me (I am also driving around with dipped beams and front fogs on (yes I know, but if it helps improve my chances of living I'll leave them on thankyou)), and when you are at lights and behind other cars you see why. Even cars less than 1yr old have filthy disgusting windscreens that are so fogged up and coverd in grime (internally) that theres no wonder they can't see what their crashing into:mad:

- I think as part of the police check things (when they check doc's and tyre's and washers and lights etc), they should check the windscreen is clean enough internally. esp with smokers, I once saw a rover 600 that I thought had green/yellow tinted windows,on closer inspection it was smoke!!!! the whole thing was just yellowy green with smoke, and there was a good 10" pile of ash in the door and on centre console:yuck:

Put it this way, at least you were all in marea's!!

I have the crash protection of a gree crisp packet
