fibreglass question

i posted earlier about fibreglassing, and i mentioned i got this stuff in a tub. is that NOT the stuff to use,

as after your advice i noticed this

which looks in a "liquid" form" rather than the thick "goopey" stuff ive previousley bought.

The stuff in a tub is bodyfiller with fibreglass strands in it. For filling holes in bodywork.

Real fibreglass is a dry matting you paint liquid resin onto.

how many metres of csm will it take to make a box thats thick enough, and is it worth putting in some of the thicker coremat layers? assuming a single sub box and a front/base made with wood.

Twice as much as you think. I'd say 4 layers of CSM, layer of coremat, 4 layers of CSM.
