Hello, the story of my just purchased Ulysse continues....okay, so got the fuel problem sorted but now I've noticed that the monochrome display is very dull and doesn't light up at night.

I am guessing it's bust, so can I purchase a replacement and fit it? I have read about re-programming but does that apply to just the screen?

There are quite a numbers listed on the unit:

Including: 17/05/2004 DM9P-D54

SW 8.400 B:10

and many others....

Any advice would be great, I am hoping I can get one from a breakers....

What unit have you got? RT1 or RT3? Do you have sat nav/phone? Give more info, you only get back what you put in.

I think its the RT3 - it includes the phone and sat nav. I just tried out the sat nav actually (its a 2004/2005 CD) and it works pretty well. Oh, it has the SOS button as well.

The funny thing is, I took it all apart and the LEDs started working, much, much better. Then on a big drive tonight, they've gone again....it looks like a transistor has burnt the board slightly and has caused an intermittent fault.

I might have a go at re-soldering it, but I am thinking I am gonna have to source a new one from a breaker.
