Hi,

I have a 54 plate 2.0 JTD Fiat Ulysse.

My son was playing in the car and repeatedly pressed the master door lock/unlock button located by the rear view mirror on the the light box. Something has gone wrong and the central locking does not respond at all. The boot is locked permanently altough I have managed to open the front doors with the key and the back doors from the inside.

I have checked the central locking/deadlocking fuse in bay 14 in the glove box compartment and it is fine.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Maybe disconnect battery to reset!, I believe in this for a multitude of faults in mine, seems to work for me anyway.(y)

Digger,

Pat yourself on the back fella!! I just did as you suggested and it sorted the problem immediately!

Many thanks mate, wish I could buy you a beer!(y) :worship: :slayer:

No problem remember "we don't own the information, we are only custodians of it" always glad to help, no point in keeping secrets like some want to do on this forum!

QUOTE=CorneWheeler;2472911]Hi,
One at a time, take out and replace the fuses situated at the drivers side under the bulkhead, where you found fuse 14. I had the same problem and it cured mine though not sure what I did other than to clean the dirty fuses up.

I have the same problem. Oddly enough I asked the motor electritian if disconnecting the battery would help? He said, "i have been doing this 26 years and i can tell you this, disconnecting the battery wont help!"

When i get home i'm gonna do just that. let you know how i get on(y)

IT WORKED!!! YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES !!!!!!!!!!!!
saved myself about 4-500 quid. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Thanks Digger for confirming what I thought. Disconnecting the baterry DOES reset the electrics. Central locking worked straight away after re-connecting the battery. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

This forum has proved a success for me. I'll keep in touch.

Great to be of help, I am a firm believer in trying resets for everything, all the "professionals" may scorn this advice but sometimes us mere mortals are right! Another point to remember is my old adage, "I don't own the knowledge, I am only the custodian of it" why not help people out if possible? is that not the general idea of this forum! I have come across several posts here from people tempting us with morsels of information but failing to deliver the goodies when pressed, To finish, If you have the knowledge give it freely, if not shut the F... up. Sorry rant over

oooooh you real angry man
sorry digger did i touch a nerve?
i only replied to say how greatful i was for your information:)
but dont worry  if i ever discover anything that could help i'll pass it on(y)
you know some people do withold info to aggrandise themselves but this is surely what a forum is all about. i only wish i found it sooner cos in the past i have had to shell out lots of cash for my beloved fiat(n)
anyway ....... keep smilin' - life aint so bad;)
