This doesn't exactly correspond with the "no faults". Coil pack is easy peasy. If a coil pack is at fault, just swap the ignition leads on the coils over. The misfire will follow the coil.

But if you can't feel a misfire, then it ain't the coil packs.

There's an excellent guide to diagnosing faulty ECUs in the Punto guides. They used the same ECUs as the early MPI Sei until the Poles protested.

Finally after 10 days of replace this and that i had to bite the bullet and buy a crankshaft sensor. It now drives like a new car.I cannot believe that a part replaced 2 years ago and only done 6000 miles can fail.But there you have it...thanks everyone.I hope my experiences may help somebody else in the future !!
