Having just done the tinming belt change of an 09 2.0D. there are no timing marks, you need to secure the cam with a pin thru the hole in the gear into the head and then it cant move so what i did was mark the crank (whic can move half a tooth on the woodruff key STD) and then loosened the tensioner put the new belt on with a new tensioner and made sure my cam mark was in place, tightened etc put everything back on and it runs fine.
There are special tools available to time up the cam etc but i doubt they are needed.
The belt change is very easy, the lack of standard marks make life very difficult
