Hi,

I have a Mk2 2001 Punto and when I bought it, it came with a Meta System alarm. However, I have no idea about the system itself and I'm having some trouble with it.

I've had a look under the bonnet at the alarm itself and I'm a bit confused. There appears to be a connector that is just loose, unconnected to anything and I'm wondering what its use is. This on the top right of the following picture:

Also, to set the alarm, you need to insert the alarm key into the 'keyhole' (not sure what to call it but there are some pics below of what i mean). However when it comes to unlocking the car, once I turn the key in the door to unlock it, the alarm immediately sounds. I'm not sure if this is how it is supposed to work or if there's a fault with the system.

If anyone can help me with this I'd be very grateful. Thanks

P.S. Sorry for the long post :)

does it not clip into the plug next to it??

also the fob is there suppose to be a fob with a button as mine has this and the fob to go in the slot as an emergency measure if the battery goes flat in the fob.

i think there is a guide on the meta alarm in the guides section

I've had a look and I can't seem to find a plug for it.

I've had a search and it seems that the 'touchkey' is either for a Meta M36T or M33 immobiliser. When I got the car it only came with this touchkey, no other key fobs. Still no idea on the alarm system though.

I'll have a look for that guide you mentioned. Thanks

Pretty, sure it doesn't go there. I really can't find anywhere for it connect to.
