Technical Fiat Punto Active 2003 - lighter problems

Sorry to bother you all. I've just bought a 2003 Punto and the cigarette lighter doesn't work. I want to be able to have my sat nav plugged in and to charge my ipod, so it's kind of vital. I've bought a new lighter, but I have absolutely NO IDEA how to change it. My haynes manual isn't any help either.

Can anyone give me a blow by blow description of how to do it?

Refer to the manual, if you don't have a manual go to the Punto Faqs section and download one.

When dealing with a car, remember, if all else fails 'RTFM'

9/10 it's the fuse.

Sometimes just plugging things in the ciggy lighter can blow the fuse if you short something out.

Go down to your local motorstores open the haynes manual it will tell you which fuse it is and what position it is in the fusebox.

hello mate,

its next to your steering coloum, under the plastic screw and the cover should fall down giving you this....

my fuse for the cigar lighter was 1 of the yellow 1s, cant remember which 1, pull them out (1 by 1 so you know where to put them back) and see if the metel "S shaped" is joined if snapped then its blown....mine cost me 50p to replace
