Fiat Punto - 2000 Reg - New Stereo

Just purchased a new car stereo for my daughters Fiat Punto 'W'plate year 2000. Wired it into the existing car stereo wiring (old wiring harness into new stereo ISO connector) and although the stereo and cd player work fine the battery light stays on even with the ignition switched off? Never had this with the old stereo so Im quite sure its not an alternator issue, just a wiring one. Unfortunately, as with most older cars there is no labelling on the existing wires so I can't connect each one individually with new stereo... any ideas? Rang halfords who were adamant that the new wiring should work fine with existing wiring harness.

Swap out the red and yellow usually does it.
