I have a Fiat Panda Cross 4x4 (2020) 60,000 miles. About 2 weeks ago the car developed a problem with the start stop and the engine cutting out about 200 yards after leaving home with a message "start stop not available", then the car would not start, with yellow warning triangle and engine lights lit up. I changed the 2 x spark plugs, 2 x coil packs, fitted a new start stop battery to replace the original battery and a new IBS sensor on the negative battery terminal, only to find the fault persisted. With more luck than judgement I tried my spare car key which had never been used and the 2 x warning lights turned off and the car is running OK again. This led me to an issue with the main car key fob (battery not changed for 5 years) and a simple change of the CR2032 battery, now the main key is working OK. I have seen lots of posts on this forum about the start stop issues with different answers to fix it. So after all that it was simply a weak key fob battery. Fitting the other components wasn't a waste of time as it was the original battery & coil packs. Just thought I would share my information which may help someone else with a start stop issue and yes a OBD fault code check in the first place may have saved me all that work. MTA.
