Hello, I have Fiat Punto (188) 1,3 multijet. I changed the head gasket now and after I have put all together he won´t run. I have got myself a ECU tester and I get two codes from this check
P1194 rail pressure sensor signal too high
P0093 Fuel high pressure-circuit malfunction

Does anyone else had this problem or simular before or know how I can fix it ?

Best regards, Hafthor

Are you sure you have correctly timed all components (cams, pumps etc) ?

Never worked on a 1.3 multijet so am no way and expert or experience with this engine

However if the engine basically ran OK before head gasket replacement (allowing for head gasket associated problems) then one has to question was it all reassembled correctly?

Sound to me you have a wiring short on the the fuel rail pressure sensor i`ve attached a quick test to check the wiring at the sensor. If you check with a multimeter at the plug (3 wires ) disconnected with ignition on you are looking for 5v feed, earth and 0.5v signal from ecu (usually is the centre pin)

Re-check all connections of wiring loom and make sure you hav`nt missed an earth connection / multi plug

any probs let me know

cheers chris

Dear forrest159, you have a very nice example of how we can test fuel pressure sensor.

But do you have test instructions for a fuel pressure regulator ?

Thank you in advance! I am facing the same problems (P1191 and P0093) and it only starts with starting spray. When overload and warm engine, the car does not want to start at all...
