Technical Fiat Marea Wekend (105 TD)

Hello All

I have recently bought a diesel Fiat Marea (105) and am having difficulty locating the washer bottle for the rear wash wipe.

My old Mazda had a seperate washer bottle for the rear so I assumed that the Fiat would be the same but cannot find it anywhere (I've been looking inside the rear tailgate / boot area).

Can anybody tell me where the rear washer bottle is located... or..... if it shares the same bottle as the front windscreen washer, what would be the likely cause of the rear washer not working - are there any common problems I should know about?

Marea's have one washer bottle that does all inc headlight washers, it's the one on the drivers side next to radiator expansion tank.
If your rear is not working and the fronts are then you've got a blocked line somewhere.

10:1 it'll be the non return valves. They're a pain in the arse! Have a look under the bonnet just in front of the windscreen LHS. The rear washer tube is awkward to get at underneath the loom.

I must admit I didn't relish having to trace the entire length of the vehicle to find the blockage!

It maybe the jet itself whats blocked.

From memory, the one way valve for the rear washer is just in front of the windscreen on the LHS. You may be lucky & have enough slack in the tubing to fiddle the valve clear of the loom ( I did on the MArea, but not on my wife's Bravo)
Once the valve goes, the washers never seem so good again, so its probably best to get the right ones from FIAT. They've gone on every FIAT I've had (eventually), but the Bravo/Marea one is the fiddliest to get at.
