Hi all,

The title a joke well in part. Love my 2008 Fiorino Multijet van, I bought it for my Kichen fitting buisiness in order to be more ecconomical. Had a years fun then warranty out and the gremlins have began. Engine light and error code PO106 MAP sensor circuit, Replaced MAP like a fool no change, Cleaned EGR valve that was totally blocked at manifold neck, Much improved performance with less throttle but limp home cuts in still when under load @3500 rpm, Is this an over boost prob? and is there a waste gate on that tiny icle turbo.

Any how hope to find some answers and forward solutions to those I fathom. Bloody Fiat deelers are letting the Brand down THEY ARE TOTALLY DIRE and very unhelpful, are they not?

wouldn say so, i work in one as a Tech and im always happy to help. The dealer would require the vehicle to diagnose at a cost to yourself, then plug in the computer, print off the fault code then cross reference it E-Learn then make a full diagnosis if its the egr valve you ideally need to replace both parts not just the solenoid and best of luck if you are even thinking about doing that yourself whithout the vehicle raised!

Check out my other post. Got the EGR valve off from above, totally blocked. Cleaned and refitted in 4 hours , not a nice job. Found the prob to be a sticking actuator lever on turbo waste gate, I managed to free it with a rigid lever that tapped with a hammer to free it. Result freed without removing turbo.

My local Sheffield dealer would offer no advice after a diagnostic as he said they needed it for more tesst as error code only identified to quote pressure irregularities. Then he quoted its prob. new turbo due to mileage.55,000? @£850 fitted.

The van now runs like a sports car, MPG is up @15% with acceleration well unreal. The EGR had blocked the manifold neck by@ 40%.

I accept not all dealers are dosh and certainly don't think the techs who work there are unhelful, Sheffield Fiat does not give a good service. My Bosch MAP sensor was £80 euro spars sheffield Fiat £138 for exact unit?????

Dont expect much help with that attitude, loads of (excellent) techs come here and give out free advice in their own time.

Yo
Don't get me wrong please, I know the lads on the shop floor know there stuff and if ya can get them to one side will offer helpand, I accept many will gladly offer advice on this site, but Sheffield Fiats service dept is I'm sorry diar, they took £80 quid just to plug my car in and tell me error code PO106 " pressure irregularities" to quote. And didn't clear error codes. They also stated it may be the turbo so complete unit may be needed as they don't fanny about with servicing unit:cry:. No offence intended:slayer:

Thank you im one of them! Always happy to help
Y,
No offence to the lads on the shop floor, its the dealer principles and service managers I don't trust not the lads with the skills. Fiat dealer didn't want to consider servicing the turbo, just NEW PART. £1000 fitted. But thanks to their atitude I sorted it myself. Tell you what the damn EGR valve is a stupid piece of kit, should be positioned to be a service item.

Again no offence intended.:slayer:

You should of got an hours worth of diagnostic with that, if they think they can read the codes, charge customer £80 then move on to next car then go independent who will do it for £25-30

Certain companies (no names mentioned) only allow tech 45 minutes and that includes getting car into crowded workshop and carrying out a full health check including tyre pressures and levels etc so what you really get is only 30 minutes of diagnostic work which is note error codes and carry out basic checks, you have been warned.

With EGR valve cleaned, turbo waste gate ectuator freed up my fiorino is up 25% on fuel ecconomy and goes like a damn rocket. Having established working range of MAP sensor before it cuts to limp mode gonna tweek turbo actuator to deliver a little more boost.
