WHAT MONITOR IS SELECTED ?????????

Many thanks in advance, I hope some one can help..:worship:

As above it depends what recovery disc you have used, one version requires the adaptor/serial number (on back of the examiner) to be entered before it will operate (this happened to me) so I think from what you have described this is the case.

The other version is for the older seperate (2 part) examiner.

Hi Guys..

I have a full copy of windows 95..
Examiner (part No: 1806459000) 5.20 Floppy instalation disc
Examiner (Part No: 1806459000) 5.20 CD instalation disc
ELO touch screen software.

My machine is the older red PC with detachable screen..

I think my problem is a PC setup issue rather than an examiner setup issue, maybe im missing a recovery disc that would correct my problem, I will go hunting and see what i can find..

Does anyone know what the latest software version this earlier machine is able to run and where im able to get the software from?

Thanks again for you help and advice, i will keep you posted on the outcome..

Darren

Recovery disc installs everything, all the software reqiured to switch on. There is no seperate elo software, the only software required is the application software. So Basically you only have two lots of software to install.

Thanks for this help, its appreciated.

I have installation CD discs:
5.2
5.2.1
6.1
6.6

I have one floppy installation (Not sure what this disc is for?)
Release 5.2 Date: 05-2002

I have one recovery disc:
Version 1 2003 1.0

Based on what you say, when loading from scratch is Windows 95 required or is it a case the drive is formatted in FAT and then load the recovery disc & then software installation?

I done it this way:

Formatted the drive FAT
Loaded Windows 95
Load installation 5.2

One other note:

The recovery disc I have.... says: use only with Examiner Plus?

Are there any structural hardware differences between Examiner 2 & Examiner Plus other than examiner 2 runs Windows 95 and the plus runs on windows 98?

If there are differences then I need to get hold of a recovery disc for Examiner 2..

You have examiner plus, original examiner was black, you have plus which is red and then you have examiner smart and smart hd.

All you do is insert the disc, switch on and it should boot up and reinstall the recovery windows software, then install the examiner software, job done.

I have the machine up and running now.

When I loaded the recovery software I was getting a message to say the tool was not an examiner, I had a computer friend sort out the graphics chips etc, the software was obviously not seeing the embedded information required, the repair fixed the ability to adjust the screen and also enable loading from recovery disc.

Thanks again for your help..

Cheers

Hey there!
Can someone help me out?

I´m trying to recover a Fiat Examiner SMART for my neighbour because the old HDD died, does anyone have an image BACKUP (ghost, acronis,etc...) of a Fiat examiner SMART HDD?

I replaced the HDD and installed the recovery successfully but don´t have the code for activation...he misplaced all the paperwork years ago!

I also read in other forum that since I still have access to the BACKUP partition of the previous (faulty) Hard Drive of the examiner, there may be a way to "extract" the previous code/registration?

Thanks!

Regards! :slayer:
