Hi can anyone shed some light on my odometer problem? We have a Fiat Ducato 25O XLWB 3.0. A while ago we went to start it and battery flat. Anyway charged battery, started ok but since that point the odometer has not increased. Everything else is fine, the speedo works as does the trip counter. The mpg calculator all works it is literally just the odometer. No error codes. Tried disconnecting the battery for a while. Obviously the transducer in the gearbox is working. Any ideas appreciated. Thank you.

I am sorry but I cannot offer much assistance. I have read that x250 and later models do not use a gearbox sensor to calculate road speed, but use the ABS sensors instead. On the x250 (post 2006) model, the instrument panel is a node on the canbus, and receives information via the canbus. This suggests, as you probably suspect, that the cause of the problem is in the instrument panel. It should be possible to get this confirmed and perhaps repaired by Cartronix or a similar company.

I have attached an extract from Fiat x250 Training Manual which provides some information, and inspection of the connector pin allocation on page 143 will confirm that the input signal must be via the canbus.
