Hi all

New member Here

I've got a fiat ducato 2008 XLWB 120 multi jet.

Its had a new cambelt water pump and had the crank shaft oil seal repalced to due it leaking.

Now When the van is started its idles perfect but when you rev between 1500 and 2000 rpm it juddering and struggles to rev but once past 2000 Its fine van is also defiantly in limp mode when driven its juddering and limiting itself to 50 mph and 2500 rpm which is strange as when its idling i can rev it to 3000 rpm .

Now the van does throw up EMl and codes have been read its showing crank shaft sensor this has been changed twice and still does it.

I have had the timing checked three time by individuals and all have said timing is bang on.

I seem to be smashing my head off a wall trying to get this fixed im self employed and losing money now.

Any Help would be Much appreciated Thanks all
 
could that cause it because auto elec said if the wiring was faulty then it would fail to start.

Hi Chris, i have had numerous vehicles throw codes for crank and cam shaft sensors and after replacing,even with genuine parts, find it to be something else. I had similar symptoms with my 05 Ducato and the same codes came up as they, in my experience, often do, turned out to be the MAP sensor.
Its located on the piping after the airfilter housing. Not sure if you can unplug it and check threw the rev range like some other sensors. Or borrow one from someone to see if there is a difference.
If i remember correctly either cam, crank maf/map sensors can cause each other to throw codes.
 
because of where the sensor is positioned it is liable to damage to the connector from road debris if you can replace the pins or connector on the wiring harness because it only happens at speed id suggest there is movement at the plug causing the code to be generated then Cheers Adam
