Hi,

First of all my apologies if my English isn't perfect but hope you will understand.

So I bought new van couple weeks ago and I am going to install the reverse cam to it. While checking fusebox under the dash, I found couple fuses F50 and F42 that are not labeled in owners manual. They still have fuses but no labels. If I remember correctly the F42 had 5A and F50 7.5A.

Do any of you know what they could be used on?

I checked these with multimeter as well and there will get power, when I turn the ignition key so I believe there are accessories then?

So I am just wondering if this could be a "safe" place to tap for power? I need power for display and relay for reverse camera.

Previous model that I had X250 2007(I believe) these fuses where used for

F42 7.5 ABS, ASR, ESP, Brake light control (secondary) (+key)
F50 7.5 Airbag (+key)

Could it be possible that this information is still valid but they have not put it in the manual by accident. At least I could not found mention about these accessories other than brake light control which can be found from fuse F37(in new model)

Best regards,

Nappis

Nappis,

Welcome to the forum. Do not worry about your English, it is perhaps better than that written by some English people.

I cannot help in detail with the fuse allocations for your vehicle.

On my 2006 2.8jtd, there are a number of fuses fitted for optional equipment, which it does not have. In most of these instances if you remove the fuse, there is no connector for the load side of the fuse.

Perhaps the fuses F42, and F50 on your vehicle, could also not have the connector on the load side?

Hi Communicator,

Thank you for your response and suggestion. The van is currently at shop where they install two additional passenger seats and add couple windows as well. I should get the van back on Thursday evening so if you don't mind I will check that out then and let you know my findings.

And of course if other have any suggestion I am more than happy to listen your suggestions.

Hi,

I finally got my car back yesterday and took a closer look at the fusebox under dash. So the fuses F42 and F50 do have connectors on both sides.

F89 is empty and it only has connector on one side(upper part) and this will get power when ignition is on.

Hello. I do realise that this thread is from 2021, but I wondered if you ever got to the bottom of whether F50 is connected to the airbag ECU? Thanks
