Technical Fiat Ducato (2014) 120 multijet - alternator smart or not?

Hi all

I've converted my Fiat (2014) panelvan into a campervan and want to know whether these models come with smart alternators or not?

I'm basically trying to determine whether I should install a DC DC charger in order to charge the batteries up to 100%. I've read mixed reviews on this matter so hoping someone here can clarify! Currently the system works well, and if it aint broke don't fix it right? But I'm not sure if a DC DC charger would give me more amp hours from my batteries, as well as battery lifespan. ie. is it worth it.

Currently I'm running a standard relay isolator (3 x 105ah auxiliary AGM's, but will probably upgrade to 2 x lithiums next month).

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. I think that smart alternators were introduced with Euro 6 vehicles, so probably later that yours, but following link may help.

To my knowledge smart alternator are only fitted to Euro 6 with automatic transmission.
