Hi, am new to this forum, and would like to know if anyone has a problem with the blower heater i.e. for months could not use speed 1,2,3 but now 4 has packed up, sometime last year had it checked and replaced rectifier under dash, which did not work as speeds 1,2,3 still dead, but 4 worked until yesterday.
Any idea's

Hi Geoff.
What age is the van..?

It probably a basic wiring problem.

The resistor packs do fail.. but often by then the wiring goes crispy.

Look in Grande Punto FAQs for a decent guide on the basics.

Often worthwhile removing the fan motor.. to check it actually works.. and clear leaves and parking tickets..

I had the same problem with a 52 plate and it turned out the in the passenger footwell on the underside of the dash is a block connector and some big footed person and kicked it and it had got hot at some point and started to melt I ended up replacing it with spade connectors and everything worked fine. worth a look for you

Have checked fan, all ok, van is a 60 plate and have replaced rectifier last year, having it checked today, fingers crossed
