OK, a white lie; I have a Thema LS Turbo, but same part numbers are involved here. My rear o/s brake disc is rusty and has clearly not worked for a while. I have no symptoms of this and drive the car fast regularly. There is no fluid coming from the bleed nipple buring bleeding and the handbrake works fine on the problem side. My thoughts turn to the compensator. Can it work OK on one side and not the other? It is a single unit for both sides?
I now have the caliper off and the flexi-hose is hanging unconnected- brake pedal is as stiff as you like.

Is a compensator strictly neccessary on an ABS vehicle?

Quiet in here then.

The answer is yes, it can work OK on one side and not on the other. I managed to free it enough to allow some passage of fluid and the right side now works too. Got MOT, so sorted.
