How come the fit app does not work with the Fiat 600 hybrid?

Which Fiat app and how does it not work? What do you mean?

The Fiat 600 Hybrid is currently not supported by the FIAT app, so it cannot be selected or managed.
The FIAT app (by FCA / Stellantis) only works with specific vehicles and telematics units.
That app is currently aimed at new 500 (electric / connected versions), Ducato and few other selected, newer models. If a model doesn’t appear in the vehicle list, it means the backend simply doesn’t allow it.
Fiat 600 Hybrid uses different connectivity hardware. The Fiat 600 Hybrid is based on Stellantis’ CMP / e-CMP platform, uses a different infotainment + telematics system than the New 500. Does not expose the same remote-control APIs (fuel, lock, location, etc.). So even though it’s a new car, it’s not wired for that app.

Fiat documentation confirms that the 600 Hybrid offers connected services like Connect ONE and Connect PLUS, and that these can be accessed via the Fiat app once activated/recognized:
Connect ONE: emergency calls, assistance, vehicle status updates
Connect PLUS: remote access/navigation/notifications through the app.
However, some of these features (especially remote ones) depend on having Connect PLUS activated and recognized by the app back-end — which may not be fully rolled out yet for this model in all regions.
Why the app might still not work for your 600 Hybrid
Even with the correct app: Your car needs Connect PLUS activated (by the dealer),Fiat’s back-end must already support that model for your region, the car’s telematics hardware and software must be recognized by Fiat services.
Many owners are discovering that:
The app can’t see or list the 600 Hybrid yet
The only vehicle options available (e.g., 500, Ducato, etc.) show up
This indicates that Fiat hasn’t finished integrating the 600 Hybrid in the app’s supported models database in some markets.

What you can try is to check if you have Connect PLUS activated. Sometimes the app won’t work if only Connect ONE is active (Connect ONE may not offer remote features).
It needs to be activated. The dealer should did it but (like me) it could not happened. I activated myself thru Fiat call center.|
You have it for free only for a year. After that you must pay. There is no much in the app: Unlock the car, Location and nothing more. After the free period You can only check for auto diagnostic report and to buy services.
