Hii just bought a second hand fiat 500 2011.just had a new cam belt and water pump fitted , which needed doing as the old one had started to crack.
Big problem started on way back from garage it was raining quiet heavy and the cluster started flashing red on and off for a few seconds , I've googled it may be caused by damp, anybody used the electrical spray on the connections, and did it work. Or is it best to have an ECU diagnosis

Get in touch with the seller as soon as possible. It's the best you can do. Make him repair the problem. Might be simply the earth strap problem, but also a much more severe thing, like for example the BCM.

Not sure on the symptoms of the infamous boot lid mini wiring loom , are there any canbus wires there ?
That could cause all sorts of problems
