Hi
Does anyone know where I can get a slave cylinder for a 1.3L Diesel Fiat 500?

My slave cylinder now needs replacing as well at 30,000 miles, 2016 model.
Never had these issues with my old 1991 Mini Mayfair :ROFLMAO:

Petrol?
Probably not, check the quick connect under the passenger wing well known to fail and give symptoms of failed slave cylinder
Oh really, thanks for the tip.
Yeah it's a petrol.
My brake warning has been intermittently on but my brakes are fine.
Does sound like a sensor issue or something!

Hi, exactly what is the brake warning ? I'd bet its brake light failure, yellow triangle ⚠️ and message check brake lights?
If it is this and its intermittent and the bulbs are known to be ok the check the well known rear hatch wiring issue at the flexible going to the boot lid?
Why do you suspect the slave cylinder poor gear selection etc or can't select at all? Has the level in the clutch fluid fallen?
Can you select the gears no problem engine off?

It's a red triangle with "brake fluid low" message.
Brake fluid is and has been fine, still stopping as normal.
I did have problems with gears a few months back, immediately after mechanic replaced Suspension arm/ball joint. Then he put new cables in, gears are not perfect but better.
I have to put it into 1st before I can reverse off the driveway each day though!
Mechanic said slave cylinder.

Thoughts?
Thanks 👍

If you have the 1.2, then the brake fluid master cylinder is on the right of the engine bay (as you look at it).

The level will fall as the pads wear, so it's worth a check. If the level is okat but the light is still coming on, then the sensor or wiring might be giving a false reading.

The clutch master cylinder is the smaller one on the left of the engine bay. The level will fall as the clutch wears but less than the brakes and over a longer time. The fluid tends to turn dark quite quickly so it's easier to see where the level is. If you see the level is low, then the fluid is more likely leaking - either at the slave cylinder, which is on top of the gearbox and can be just about seen if you peer up at it from under the bumper, or at the quick-connector under the front part of the wheel arch, which can be seen if you look up into the space between the wheel and the engine bay.

If you see any fluid/wet patches from either, then they're leaking... (obvious.. but I mean "this is definitely not normal").
