500 (Classic) Fiat 500 Nuova 1959 - BARN FIND

Hi,

I am selling a 1959 Fiat Nuova (on ebay Australia).

I am very interested in advice on what you think it will sell for? How rare is she? I didnt think it would attract as much attention as she has .

Hi Scott,
According to my information, 181,036 were built between 1957 and 1960 and yours would seem to be number 59,299. Not particularly rare at the time, but likely to be now as the tinworm will have claimed many.
The engine had a capacity of 479cc (66x70mm) and produced a whopping 13bhp @ 4000rpm.
They were superceded in 1960 by the more popular 500D also with suicide doors.
I assume the interest in the car is generated because it is an early model and an early model of any car is always interesting.
As to its value, it is worth what the current market dictates.
Good luck with the auction - you may get a pleasant surprise, though I doubt you'll be running out to buy a Ferrari
