General Fiat 500 MPG

To be honest with the AC i probably lose about 0.5 l/100 km but thats when stuck in traffic. I must say the AC system of Fiat seem to be quite efficient as it doesnt seem to be a large compressor. Sometimes, given the scortching med. heat in the summer, i wish it was larger!

I still struggle with metric and use this for the conversion.
At 7.5L/100 it gives 38mpg & at 8.0L/100 I get 35mpg with is 3mpg difference which matches the earlier post.
There was a query earlier on this week about if a/c lost power and I found that it did on the 1.4 petrol but it wasn't as pronounced if you had Climate control. Although haven't really noticed it on the 155TB. Imagine that it must impact the 1.2 but it may come down to the size of the compressor.
Reckon that there's a larger compressor on the US F500.

It should be pointed out that rolling around in neutral will LOWER your mpg rather than increase it.

When in gear and you're slowing down, the engine uses virtually no fuel as the momentum of the car keeps it going, if you're in neutral then the engine has to inject fuel in to keep the engine ticking over.

I did not know this...fair point.

This morning I had 191 miles remaining in the tank while driving half asleep to work. 3 miles to get home and it is down to 121. Seems I rush home.
