Hi guys,
My sister owns a fiat 500 and shes been told her car needs a new driveshaft and its costing 4 figures. The car isnt even 2 1/2 years old so its still under warranty but the garage have told her that a fiat mechanic is going out to see if its to be fixed under warranty as its costing over £700. Surely it shouldn't matter how much its costing as its a fault with the car.
Can someone please let me know if she should be paying anything at all?

The helps appreciated.

Thanks

I would have thought Fiat would want one of their people to look at claim before allowing it due to the size bill involved to check it wasn't caused by neglect, previous crash damage or any other reason they could use to get out of paying.

Tbf 2 and 1/2 years is not a fair life for a driveshaft in normal conditions.

over £700, not unusual for it to be inspected.

Am I crazy for thinking that £700 is a little much for a driveshaft?

As long as she's not put it into a kerb or damaged it in any other way then I shouldn't think she should be paying anything.

Thanks,
Theres a fiat person going out to see it today to see if its to be fixed under warranty.
I've told told her to argue the case if they say shes to pay, as a driveshaft shouldn't be needing replaced after 2 1/2 years.
