Thanks for your reply, I’m not sure as I cant get a cd into it
Its a 2010 plate. There was a cd stuck in it, but I got it out with a credit card, as I thought that was what the problem may be. When I press it it says no source available. It never says cd. I should add that I cant get a cd to go in now either
I didnt. It was saying no source before I even took the cd out, hence why I had to take the cd out manually. It was clearly buggered in the first place. I cant do stuff like that with the battery, so I’ll just have to live with the radio! Thanks for your time
Hi there, No it never says Aux, just no source available. I did think about that, but not sure where I’d get one, or who I’d get to fit it. Do mechanics do that?My car does have steering wheel controls, yes. It has that blue and me which is a waste of time, as it doesnt let me play the music on my iphone! Thanks for your helpHi, does it ever say "Aux" when CD pressed ? you could get a aftermarket radio with new fascia plate(total about £100) that would give you hands free phone music streaming etc, does your car have steering wheel controls? A secondhand radio(factory fit) may have issues connecting to the rest of the car not sure if you got one, others may know.
Our 59 plate allows my wife to connect her phone via a cable into the rear for sound only(no control of music source etc)

Thank you so much John for taking the time the time to find those things for me, you’re so helpful! Say I got a stereo from halfords and got them to fit it, would they put the fascia on for me if I supplied it, do you think? If no, would it be easy to put on myself afterward? So it sounds like the unit is faulty, that leaves you with, leave it, new secondhand unit that "may" require coding to the body computer or replace it with a new head unit?

This "maybe" the correct interface for the steering wheel control if you're bothered @ £50 ? http://caraudiosecurity.com/vehicle-interface-fiat-punto-grande-ctsfa004
All the above is really quite easy to install, even a total novice could do it with a few pointers by a helpful person, the radio pulls out and the new one uses the same connectors EXCEPT a constant live feed maybe required to be hooked up, also using the new adapter plate.
Giving all you need?
