Just a thought, a stab in the dark given that I believe they are all from the same C510 family of gearboxes.........

wondering if the 500 1.4 turbo abarth manual gearbox is a straight bolt on affair - might be a good upgrade for an old Punto GT gearbox like mine if broken or worn.

Seen a warrantied Abarth box on ebay for around £600 with less than 30k on it.......

Yes and no.

The Punto Mk1 except the GT all use the C514.

The GT uses the C510 (as does the Alfa 155, etc.).

The Abarth 500 (and only the Abarth 500) uses a variety of the C510 (I suspect it may have a different bell housing to suit what is, in origin, a FIRE block).

The race series version of the 500 Abarth used the M32 gearbox (as fitted to Bravo, etc. T Jet).

They're not exactly hens teeth, so £600 is probably top end of the price range.

If your GT one broke i think better to get it reconditioned, nothing wrong with a GT box and it suits the engine very well..

If however you workout how to fit one to a 8v FIRE that would be awesome (for us turbo cento owners at least)

So many Alfas used that box, that that's where I'd look -- it's not uncommon to find 155s and 156s with broken cambelts going for £300 or so.

The big issue -- assuming it'll fit -- with using the 500 Abarth box in an turbo Cinq is that it deprives someone else (I'm guessing that fitting a Bravo T Jet box is impossible) of running a T Jet in one.
