The battery was fitted first thing this morning and the generator fired up. It's running fine and I have the promise of an adaptor lead on loan for the weekend 
Today's priority is very much getting Yellow ready for it's MOT but we've not forgotten about FiaSco. If there's time the generator will be fired up and the grinder will be put to use here

btw, did you notice the boiler suit? Another of my many acquisitions there are spares so if you're joining us we can now protect your clothing when you're scrabbling about underneath the cars. URL is optional but probably not in a straight line :laugh:

Ah yes, another of the projects. They're in FiaSco for now to prevent damage from the inclement Aberdeen weather however as we've just robbed the sunroof for Yellow I'm not sure how undamaged they'll remain.
Must check the rusty sunroof is in properly or put the tarpaulin over them when we leave tonight

sad to say the only real progress that was made on FiaSco today was starting to remove some of the pink paint from the alloys
Unfortunately this was because we're probably going to use them on Yellow so not really progress. Plans are afoot though including tracking down metal that could possibly used to patch it and somewhere less drafty to do said welding.
Rest assured FiaSco is still a going concern and will look bloody brilliant once we're finished

As it was obvious nothing we weren't going to get much work done on Yellow today focus shifted back to poor sorry-looking FiaSco. Martyn has been itching to get going with the grinder ever since he bought it and the generator was acquired. Finally today that time arrived - the last time I saw him looking so happy was after rather a lot of vodka at last years Xmas meet :laugh:
The generator was fired up, safety goggles put on (FS H&S insisted) and the grinder put to work removing the stupid pointless pink rollbar.
The shed emptied at this point as Lewis and Mike legged it closely followed by me after I very hurridly took this picture and moved the water closer to FiaSco just in case.
After which the expert took over
No safety goggles for Stuart because that's the way he rolls (and as he isn't FS I couldn't nag him into wearing them)
Slightly off topic but I have a picture of Martyn wearing fetching red safety specs and looking like the love child of Timmy Mallett and Sue Pollard. For a donation to the site of a tenner or more I'll post it up
After quite a bit of swearing and a lot more sparks the rollbar was nearly off but still needed a bit more persuasion which the boys were happy to provide. Slightly NSFW and more than a tad disturbing :laugh:

Stuart's girlfriend was not impressed by this prospect but we all found it hilarious although we did get a bit worried about his paintwork in this picture
With the rollbar off it was a quick trip to Halfrauds to buy a trolley jack (with the help of a trade card) that will reside permanently in the shed as lack of one stopped work on Yellow. After that we called time as everyone had other things to do.
More on the 9th of November hopefully

Poor Fiasco - getting very little attention at the moment, but plans are forming. We've fitted the sunroof from Yellow (the rotten one) to keep the worst of the elements out for now. Up front the Throttle body is just about removed, not much to go now.
With a little luck we'll start on FiaSco in ernest in the new year. The plan is to cut and weld once we pick up again properly in January. Bar a bit of troubleshooting (maybe) next weekend, I suspect we're pretty much done in the shed for the year.
Once Stuart is back from Nigeria we'll start planning out repairs and alterations to the shell, before the real fun begins.

Not directly related but watching wheeler dealers doing up a mini and showing how easy it is to do up a mini. Amazing stuff with good tips on how it should be done. A bit of inspiration for fiasco

So we have options mate. Scrapped car with what appears to be a good floor. Plus its free. We can patch if needs be..
