are they 899 springs that are on that? hard to tell if it's that or the front is so low it's just making it look like a jeep at the rear :D

We're fairly certain Overton have given us the wrong springs. I don't have a picture of it but we parked Lewis' sei next to it and the site car is higher.

So yeh...back to today!

The stupid fugly cup holders are now a distant memory. Sadly there are now slight holes in teh doorskins. Meh.

To me now, to you! Hahah was a great afternoon after working all morning! Still gutted that the power steering works on the site car and not mine!

we really do need to come up with a name for this. There's a few suggestions over on facebook but we could do with a few more before I run a poll on it. Come on peeps - what are we going to call the site car?

How about XSES it's saves buying a private plate lol

Oi! I know we're Scottish but we're not that cheap lol

Although with a bit of judicious punctuation that might work XS'ES (excesses)

A reminder of how the car once was? Nice thought but there's already a Pinky in Fiat-land http://www.fiatforum.com/panda-classic/312042-pinky-panda-fundraising-thread.html

Plan is to attack this project again at the weekend. We may have a few new faces involved in the fix it meet, so full details will be confirmed but if anyone's at a loose end on Saturday we could sure use your help!

From what we can see, the following is likely to need repaired or replaced for the MOT.

  • Weld floor/sills (include underseal/hammerite)[/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Repair/Replace front suspension - may be serviceable as is if we can adjust ride height?[/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Repair handbrake[/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Check/Replace front brakes as neccessary (Lewis indicated the discs may be on their way out)[/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Replace brake pipes[/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Replace mid/back section exhaust[/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Fuel/Flush - emissions![/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Secure Fuel tank (it's tie wrapped in - wtf?!)[/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Replace rear wheels/tyres[/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Fix N/S/F arch lining (insecure)[/*:m:juq8rxn2]
  • Check bulbs - o/s/f fog light is out.[/*:m:juq8rxn2]

I'm no mechanic or indeed MOT tester but this is a list of potential issues that I'm fairly certain will need addressed to get us an MOT.

Potentially we can address welding and brake pipes at the end of the month, handbrake/exhaust and misc (fuel tank etc) might be a good place to pick up next weekend? Thoughts?

there is only 2 bigish jobs there, one is the welding, the other is the brake pipes, but even they aren't exactly horrible.

£25 for the discs. They are brand new mintex, sealed in their box. I got them for the rear of my cinq for the mot, just in case because mine looked tatty as hell. (i run standard fronts at the back and punto gt's up front), but my discs just needed scrubbed up and were good as new once the surface corrosion was off, so just kept them back as spares.

Can do a deal on them and the tinted sei rear lights as a package if you want

Well the bad news is I got into work this morning to discover we hadn't secured the tarpaulin properly and it had blown off exposing the car to yesterday's rain. It's back on now and should stay on as one of our workshop guys has secured it with rope.

The good news is we have full permission to work on the car where it is for as long as we need. Ideally I would like the exhaust on and the brakes working sharpish so it can be moved to one of the disused byres round here which will give it added protection against the elements. It will still need the tarp though to protect it from bird ****

anything you have that will help complete the below list of jobs. We also need to figure out how to sort out the exhaust

  • Weld floor/sills (include underseal/hammerite)[/*:m:gkek217r]
  • Repair/Replace front suspension - may be serviceable as is if we can adjust ride height?[/*:m:gkek217r]
  • Repair handbrake[/*:m:gkek217r]
  • Check/Replace front brakes as neccessary (Lewis indicated the discs may be on their way out)[/*:m:gkek217r]
  • Replace brake pipes[/*:m:gkek217r]
  • Replace mid/back section exhaust[/*:m:gkek217r]
  • Fuel/Flush - emissions![/*:m:gkek217r]

  • Fix N/S/F arch lining (insecure)[/*:m:gkek217r]
